Frequently asked questions

Who do you work with?

My primary focus is adults age 55 and older. I also provide counseling related to caregiver stress and burnout when caregiving, grief, role change, or emotional exhaustion is the central concern.

Do I have to be in crisis to start therapy?

No. People begin therapy for many reasons. You may be in acute distress, or you may simply know that something in your life deserves more attention than you have been able to give it alone.

Do you provide art therapy?

No. I am not a credentialed art therapist. I have academic training in expressive therapeutic arts and may incorporate optional creative or expressive practices within counseling when they are appropriate and meaningful to you.

Do you provide grief counseling?

Yes. Grief and bereavement are important areas of focus in my practice, informed in part by my graduate education in thanatology and my hospice experience.

What if I am a caregiver?

Caregiver support can focus on burnout, grief, guilt, resentment, decision fatigue, family conflict, boundaries, role changes, and the emotional strain of watching someone you love change over time.

Do you accept insurance?

I can currently only accept Medicaid or private pay! This will expand as I grow in my practice!
